Work along this section of the St. Clair Project is progressing well.

The majority of heavy construction work; new track, streetcar passenger platforms, roadway and sidewalk from McRoberts Avenue to Old Weston Road is now completed. Overhead streetcar power line and poles remain to be installed.

Crews are currently working on track installation, roadway and sidewalk reconstruction between Old Weston Road and Keele Street.

Roadway and sidewalk work between Keele Street and Gunns loop is also underway and progressing well.

Traffic Restrictions

A minimum of one lane of traffic in both directions on St. Clair Avenue will be maintained through the work zones.

Work Hours

Streetcar track construction is a 24-hour operation to complete work as quickly as possible. All heavy construction will take place between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. Weekend work will take place when required. Overnight work is needed to support construction during the day. Work includes delivery of rail, rail installation, welding and grinding. Every effort will be made to minimize construction noise during the 24-hour work periods.

Deliveries, Recycling/Garbage Collection and Parking

During construction, deliveries to the front of businesses within the work zone will need to be made from side streets or be coordinated with the on-site City inspector. Please follow your normal routine waste and recycling collection. On-street parking will and is affected in the vicinity of all work zones associated with this project.
