The 6 Bay bus route operates generally in a north-south direction between the area of Dupont Street and Bedford Road, and the area of Jarvis Street and Queens Quay East.  It also serves the Bay Station on the Bloor-Danforth Subway, and the Union Station on the Yonge-University-Spadina Subway.  Accessible service is provided on the route. Bike racks are available on this route. Union Station is an accessible subway station.

Two services are operated.  The 6 (Dupont-Queens Quay & Jarvis via Ferry Docks) is the main branch, and operates seven days a week. The 6B (Bloor-Dundas) short-turn branch operates during the morning and afternoon peak periods from Monday to Friday only.

Southbound 6 TO JARVIS VIA FERRY DOCKS

These buses operate from Dupont Street and Bedford Road via south on Bedford Road, east and south on Davenport Road, south on Bay Street, east on Queens Quay, north on Freeland Street, and east on Lake Shore Boulevard East to Jarvis Street.

Northbound 6 TO DUPONT

These buses operate from Lake Shore Boulevard East and Jarvis Street via south on Jarvis Street, west on Queens Quay, north on Bay Street, north and west on Davenport Road, and east on Dupont Street to Bedford Road.

Southbound 6B TO DUNDAS

These buses operate from Davenport Road and Yonge Street via south on Yonge Street, west on Yorkville Avenue, south on Bay Street, and west on Edward Street to Elizabeth Street.

Northbound 6B TO BLOOR

These buses operate from Edward Street and Elizabeth Street via north on Elizabeth Street, east on Elm Street, north on Bay Street, and east on Davenport Road to Yonge Street.
