The 54 Lawrence East bus route operates between Eglinton Station on the Yonge-University-Spadina Subway, the area of Lawrence Avenue East and Orton Park Drive, and the area of Lawrence Avenue East and Starspray Boulevard, generally in an east-west direction. It also serves the Lawrence East Station on the Scarborough RT. Accessible service is provided on the route. Eglinton Station is an accessible subway station. Bike racks are available on this route.

Three services are operated. The 54A (Eglinton Stn-Starspray Blvd) is the main branch, and operates at all times, seven days a week. The 54 (Eglinton Stn-Orton Park) short-turn branch operates at all times, seven days a week. The 54E (Lawrence East Stn-Starspray Blvd EXPRESS) short-turn branch operates during the peak periods, from Monday to Friday only.

Eastbound 54 TO ORTON PARK

Until 3:00 pm seven days a week, these buses operate from Eglinton Station via north on Duplex Avenue, east on Eglinton Avenue East, north on Leslie Street, east on Lawrence Avenue East, through Lawrence East RT Station, continuing east on Lawrence Avenue East, north on Scarborough Golf Club Road, and east on Brimorton Drive to Orton Park Road.

Westbound 54 TO EGLINTON STN

Until 3:00 pm seven days a week, these buses operate from Brimorton Drive and Orton Park Road via south on Orton Park Road, west on Lawrence Avenue East, through Lawrence East RT Station, continuing west on Lawrence Avenue East, south on Leslie Street, west on Eglinton Avenue East, and south on Duplex Avenue to Eglinton Station.

Eastbound 54 TO ORTON PARK

After 3:00 pm seven days a week, these buses operate from Eglinton Station via north on Duplex Avenue, east on Eglinton Avenue East, north on Leslie Street, east on Lawrence Avenue East, through Lawrence East RT Station, continuing east on Lawrence Avenue East, and north on Orton Park Road to Brimorton Drive.

Westbound 54 TO EGLINTON STN

After 3:00 pm seven days a week, these buses operate from Orton Park Road and Brimorton Drive via west on Brimorton Drive, south on Scarborough Golf Club Road, west on Lawrence Avenue East, through Lawrence East RT Station, continuing west on Lawrence Avenue East, south on Leslie Street, west on Eglinton Avenue East, and south on Duplex Avenue to Eglinton Station.

Eastbound 54A TO STARSPRAY BLVD

These buses operate from Eglinton Station via north on Duplex Avenue, east on Eglinton Avenue East, north on Leslie Street, east on Lawrence Avenue East, through Lawrence East RT Station, continuing east on Lawrence Avenue East, through Rouge Hill GO Station Loop, and continuing east on Lawrence Avenue East to Starspray Loop (on the north side of Lawrence Avenue East, east of Starspray Boulevard).

Westbound 54A TO EGLINTON STN

These buses operate from Starspray Loop via west on Lawrence Avenue East, through Lawrence East RT Station, continuing west on Lawrence Avenue East, south on Leslie Street, west on Eglinton Avenue East, and south on Duplex Avenue to Eglinton Station.

Eastbound 54E EXPRESS TO STARSPRAY BLVD

These buses operate from Lawrence East RT Station via east on Lawrence Avenue East, through Rouge Hill GO Station Loop, and continuing east on Lawrence Avenue East to Starspray Loop. Eastbound 54E buses operate EXPRESS from Lawrence East RT Station to Markham Road, stopping only at McCowan Road and Markham Road; 54E buses then operate LOCAL from Markham Road to Starspray Loop.

Westbound 54E EXPRESS TO LAWRENCE E RT STN

These buses operate from Starspray Loop via west on Lawrence Avenue East to Lawrence East RT Station. Westbound 54E buses operate LOCAL from Starspray Loop to Markham Road; 54E buses then operate EXPRESS from Markham Road to Lawrence East RT Station, stopping only at McCowan Road (both sides), Rushley Drive (AM only), Midland Avenue (AM only), and Lawrence East RT Station.
