The 17 Birchmount bus route operates between Warden Station on the Bloor-Danforth Subway, the area of Birchmount Road and Steeles Avenue East, and the area of Birchmount Road and 14th Avenue in the Town of Markham, generally in a north-south direction. Bike racks are available on this route.

Two services are operated.  The 17 (Warden Stn-Steeles) is the main branch, and operates at all times, seven days a week. The 17A (Warden Stn-14th Ave) extended branch operates during the peak periods, from Monday to Friday only.

Northbound 17 TO STEELES

During peak periods from Monday to Friday only, these buses operate from Warden Station via north on Warden Avenue, east on St. Clair Avenue East, north on Birchmount Road, west, north and west on Wintermute Boulevard, and north on Mountcastle Gate to Steeles Avenue East. 

Southbound 17 TO WARDEN STN

During peak periods from Monday to Friday only, these buses operate from Mountcastle Gate and Steeles Avenue East via east on Steeles Avenue East, south on Birchmount Road, and west on St. Clair Avenue East to Warden Station.

Northbound 17 TO STEELES

During the midday and evening from Monday to Friday, at all times on Saturdays, and during the daytime on Sundays and holidays, these buses operate from Warden Station via north on Warden Avenue, east on St. Clair Avenue East, north on Birchmount Road, west on Steeles Avenue East, and north on Warden Avenue to the Warden/Steeles off-street loop (on the west side of Warden Avenue, north of Steeles Avenue East).

Southbound 17 TO WARDEN STN

During the midday and evening from Monday to Friday, at all times on Saturdays, and during the daytime on Sundays and holidays, these buses operate from the Warden/Steeles off-street loop via south on Warden Avenue, east on Steeles Avenue East, south on Birchmount Road, and west on St. Clair Avenue East to Warden Station.

Northbound 17A TO 14TH AVENUE/EXTRA FARE REQUIRED NORTH OF STEELES

During peak periods from Monday to Friday only, these buses operate from Warden Station via north on Warden Avenue, east on St. Clair Avenue East, north on Birchmount Road, west on McNabb Street, north on Gough Road, and north on Crown Steel Drive to Royal Crest Court.

Southbound 17A TO WARDEN STN

During peak periods from Monday to Friday only, these buses operate from Crown Steel Drive and Royal Crest Court via east on Royal Crest Court, south on Birchmount Road, and west on St. Clair Avenue East to Warden Station.
