The TTC celebrates National Flag of Canada Day on Sunday, February 15, by flashing The Maple Leaf on its bus destination signs.

What:

TTC bus destination signs display the Canadian flag to commemorate National Flag Day.

When:

Sunday, February 15, from start of service to end of service.

Where:

All TTC bus routes.

The TTC has more than 1,700 buses in its fleet. They are equipped with electronic destination signs. On Sunday, the signs will flash The Maple Leaf, every five to 15 seconds, in a show of patriotism to our country’s flag. Please note: streetcars do not have electronic destination signs to display the flag.

The Toronto Transit Commission moves 466 million people every year – about 1.6 million riders every weekday. The TTC is the third largest public transit system in North America servicing some 4.5 million people in the Greater Toronto Area, with a network of subways, streetcars, buses, and a specialized service, Wheel-Trans, for people who require accessible transportation. The TTC is committed to meeting the growing needs of the region with subway and light rail expansion, carrying an additional 175 million riders by 2021.
