Procedures and Control - Track and Structure Department
Reporting to the Procedures Co-ordinator, you are responsible for the development, preparation and update of practices, work methods, and work plans related to the testing, repair, rehabilitation and maintenance of below and above grade infrastructure maintained by the Track and Structure Department. This involves a variety of technical and administrative duties related to the development and configuration control of work methods. Specific duties include: researching all related documentation (e.g. maintenance and operating manuals, design standards, legislation, etc.); liaising with supervisory, technical and hourly rated field personnel in order to document and analyze work flow, work methods, and standard practices; liaising with other departments such as the Safety & Environment Department to ensure all safety/environmental requirements and legislation are incorporated into the work methods as deemed appropriate; and performing other related duties as assigned. Responsible for treating passengers and employees with respect and dignity and ensuring the needs of passengers and employees with disabilities are accommodated and/or addressed (if applicable and within their area of responsibility) in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders so that they can fully benefit from the TTC as a service-provider and an employer.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience
You require excellent technical report writing skills and the ability to develop and revise operating work methods. You require sound knowledge of construction and maintenance practices associated with rail transit system. You must be familiar with the various functions carried out by the Track & Structure Department. Must have a working knowledge of digital scanners and computer software related to the work (e.g. Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, desktop publishing software, etc.). You require sound judgement; well-developed analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and verbal communication skills; familiarity with the applicable aspects of the Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act and environmental legislation. These abilities would normally be acquired through a community college diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, or the equivalent, combined with relevant experience in the areas of procedure writing and/or maintenance and repair of structural concrete and steel components. Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees.
Annual Salary Range: $57,202.60 - $71,471.40 (Level 7)
