Procedures Co-ordinator
Procedures and Control, Track and Structure Department
Reporting to the Superintendent Procedures and Control, you are responsible for writing, co ordinating, and implementing all aspects of the Track and Structure Department’s practices, procedures and maintenance manuals. This involves developing, circulating, revising and finalizing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all aspects of Track and Structure Department operations including departmental administration, engineering, structural inspection, structure maintenance and track maintenance. You will also be responsible for the production and maintenance of standardized specifications for the procurement of supply and contracted services including provisions for quality assurance and maintenance information. Responsible for treating passengers and employees with respect and dignity and ensuring the needs of passengers and employees with disabilities are accommodated and/or addressed (within their area of responsibility) in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders so that they can fully benefit from the TTC as a service-provider and an employer.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience
You require sound knowledge of maintenance and engineering principles, methods and practices as they relate to track and structural maintenance. Must have sound knowledge of maintenance practices, methods and procedures related to physical plant assets and equipment, combined with knowledge of quality assurance principles. A demonstrated ability to develop and implement operating procedures, work methods, standards, specifications and practices is essential. You must possess sound judgement and well developed technical, analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, verbal communication and technical report writing skills. Must be computer literate with a strong knowledge of personal computers and applications related to the work (e.g. MS Office, Word, Excel, Access, etc.). You must be familiar with the applicable codes/practices/standards, (e.g. Occupational Health and Safety Act, environmental legislation, etc.) governing the various functions carried out by the Track and Structure Department. A Class “G” Province of Ontario Driver’s Licence is required. These skills, abilities and knowledge would normally be acquired by obtaining a Community College Diploma (3 year) in Civil, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Technology, or the equivalent, combined with several years of directly related experience. University graduation in a related engineering discipline would be an asset. Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees.
Annual Salary Range: $64,846.60 - $81,026.40 (Level 8) Under Review
