Reporting to the Director - Project Management, you will be assigned to specific information system projects, providing costing, scheduling and other project controls support to the project management team for all aspects of the project’s execution. Specific duties include: developing and updating detailed project schedules using schedule coding and work breakdown structures; preparing the master project schedule and monitoring the project’s performance against same; performing schedule analysis and control by determining critical path activities, earned value, schedule variance, schedule performance indices and schedule risk metrics, and recommending corrective action where required; developing project budget requirements and forecasts by work activity and contract work package breakdown structures, with estimates as provided by the project team; performing cash flow analysis and financial forecasting and expenses; preparing cash flow analysis and financial forecasting and expenses; preparing, analyzing and monitoring the project’s budget; monitoring, analyzing and updating project costs; preparing various project status reports and related documentation in consultation with the project team; and performing other related duties as assigned. Responsible for treating passengers and/or employees with respect and dignity and ensuring the needs of passengers or employees with disabilities are accommodated and/or addressed (if applicable and within your area of responsibility) in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders so that they can fully benefit from the TTC as a service-provider and an employer.

Skills/Knowledge/Experience

You require a comprehensive knowledge of practices and procedures involved in the scheduling function for projects, with a sound understanding of basic project management and systems development methodologies. Requires good knowledge of standard accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, methods and practices. Hands-on experience reading project plans and specifications, planning and preparing work breakdown structures, schedule logic and critical path diagrams, with particular emphasis on IT systems development projects. Ability to develop and analyze financial reports based on project plans and expenses. In depth experience with computer based scheduling and cost control systems (Primavera, MS Project, PRISM) and computerized financial systems, database design concepts, spreadsheets and computerized cost analysis methods and practices. Must possess sound judgement; strong organizational, administrative and analytical abilities; effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Formal training/certification in project management principles is a definite asset. These skills and knowledge would normally be acquired through community college graduation in a related discipline, or the equivalent, combined with several years of related experience. Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees.

Annual Salary Range: $64,846.60 – $81,026.40 (Level 8) Under Review
