Dundas West gets first Subway Information Screen
All stations scheduled to be equipped by end of 2011

November-December 2010
The first Station Information Screen (SIS) was unveiled at Dundas West Station on Oct. 21. All subway/rt stations are scheduled to be equipped with the 40-inch screens by the end of 2011.
SISs are designed to improve customer communications by providing information on the status of the subway, surface routes that serve each station and other important updates that customer would require before paying their fare.
“These information screens are part of the TTC’s ongoing enhancements to customer communications. They were also a recommendation of the Customer Service Advisory Panel,” TTC Chair Adam Giambrone said.
Through the TTC’s partnership with Onestop Media Group, SISs will help to enhance the daily commute along with Platform Video Screens and Next Vehicle Arrival Screens.
SISs display specific and general information related to the station where it’s installed, such as:
- Station name.
- Bus and streetcar routes that service that station.
- E-alerts on the screen’s ticker.
- Full-screen overrides during major subway disruptions.
- Planned route diversion affecting the station.
- Last train departure times at the station.
- Safety and marketing information.
