The TTC held its 30th Annual Subway Musicians’ Auditions on Aug. 15. This year, 181 musicians (or 166 acts) signed up to try out for one of 74 TTC licenses.

Subway performers come from all walks of life and some have played underground for decades. Each year for the past 29 years, these musicians have entertained hundreds of thousands of subway riders daily with a wide range of musical styles and instruments – everything from guitars to dijerridoos, bassoons to violins to kalimbas.
