All stop announcements on the subway, Scarborough RT, buses and streetcars became fully automated in July.

Last year, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario ruled that calling all bus and streetcar stops to accommodate the needs of the blind and visually impaired was a duty of the TTC under the provisions of the Ontario Human Rights Code. The Tribunal issued a similar order to announce all stops in the subway/rt system in 2005. If the automated system experiences a malfunction in service, Operators will call all stops.

Riders can call Marketing and Customer Service at 416 393-3030 if stop announcements are not heard on any TTC vehicle.
